Summer undergraduate research fellows are required to select 3 potential mentors for their research experiences (one of whom is NOT at their home institution).  Priority is given to fellows who choose to work with someone outside their institution to diversify the research experiences at the home institution.  In addition, advanced summer undergraduate research fellows are encouraged to consider a position in a different laboratory or biotechnology company from their previous research experience to take advantage of multiple opportunities.
