One of the major objectives of INBRE programs is to provide core facilities in a particular scientific area that are available to researchers from IDeA states.  SD BRIN chose to establish core facilities in proteomics, genomics, and nucleic acid sequencing to address the needs of biomedical researchers with an interest in cell biology and control of cell growth. Each INBRE program is also required to have a bioinformatics core to complement the data analysis generated by the other core facilities
