Vermillion, SD - The Annual SD BRIN Winter Networking Session will be held via Zoom from 10-11:30AM CST on Saturday, January 23, 2021. This annual session provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to meet with potential mentors for the summer SD BRIN Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Links to the faculty video posters and additional information will follow closer to the date of the event. Below is the schedule for the sessions:
Faculty Session
- 10:00AM - 10:40AM: SD BRIN All Faculty meeting
- 10:45AM - 11:30AM: Faculty/Student networking breakout sessions (Breakout rooms will contain 2 faculty each, students will be assigned to the rooms they express interest in prior to the meeting date. Students will be moved to new rooms at 10 minute intervals so each student will get to visit with 6 faculty.)
Student Session
- Faculty Research Video Posters will be open for student viewing from January 17 - January 23, 2021
- Students will select 3-5 faculty they would like to meet with by January 22, 2021 (at least one choice must be a faculty from a different campus than students' home campus)
- 10:00AM - 10:15AM: Intro to the SD BRIN program and details about the application process (including the importance of the letter of interest and tips for writing it)
- 10:15AM - 10:35AM: Q&A panel session with former SD BRIN Undergraduate Fellows
- 10:35AM - 10:40AM: Breakout session explanation
- 10:45Am-11:30AM: Breakout session (4 sessions of about 10 minutes each)
