Vermillion, SD - SD BRIN hosted the 16th Annual Lawrence Brothers Science Camp from July 9-14, 2017 on the University of South Dakota campus. This year's theme was, "Light and Vision". There were many applications, unfortunately, there were only forty eight spots open for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students. Throughout the week, the students learned about subjects like; Shaping Materials with Light, Physiology of Vision, Birds Eyes and Binoculars, the Pulfrich Effect, Eye Health, and Dark Matter. The students also participated in a scavenger hunt, cow eye dissection, Lego challenge, and a photo lab creating photograms. In the evenings, the students went to the wellness center, swimming at the new Vermillion pool, and a movie. The week ended with a closing brunch and group presentations that the families were invited to attend.
