Current Research: The goal of this study is to compare the effects of a 6 week, twice weekly resistance training + walking training program to resistance training alone, and walking alone on physical performance and body composition. The physical performance tests will include grip strength, timed chair rise, 6 meter walk, 6 meter backwards walk, 400 meter walk, floor rise to standing, and stair climbing ability, which are standard tests for assessing older adult muscular function. Resting heart rate and blood pressure changes will also be assessed. Body composition will be measured using the BMI index. The addition of a control group will be added.
